We are looking for an Alice Friend who married Henry Moses. Henry Moses then changed his name to Friend. We don’t know why. They were the grandparents of Donald Friend the artist and great-great grandparents of my nephew.

2. Mary Ann Friend b. 20 Jul 1842 Campbelltown, Nsw d. 5 Jun 1906 Newtown [dist], Nsw. She married Thomas Hull (1837-1895) at Bathurst, Nsw 12 Mar 1861. Issue = 7 sons and 2 daughters.
Just thought I would correct the above. I have been researching the Friend’s for over 15 years and have been to Sussex to do research etc.

Hi, I am also decended from Thomas Friend. Jesse Friend was my Great-great-great Grandfather. His daughter Ethel Lilly was my Great-great Grandmother. She married James Hall. Their daughter Mary Anne Hall married George Edward Coleman. Their son Walter Miles James Coleman was my Grandfather. Of note, my Great Uncle George Edward Coleman (named after his father) died on the Sydney when it went down. I’d love to know more info if you have it. Regards Heather
